What we collect

• Account info: a name or username, an email address (or, for username sign-ups, a generated address used only for login), and a hashed password. Passwords are never stored or emailed in plain text.
• An optional recovery email, used only to send you your username and a password reset link if you ask for one.
• If you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email those services share with us, and a token that keeps you signed in.
• The courts you RSVP to and the times you claim. Your display name (username, or the name from Apple/Google if you signed in that way) is visible to other signed-in players who open the roster for that same court and hour — that's how "who else is coming" works. It's never shown to players outside that hour.
• Basic session data (IP address, device/browser identifier) used only to keep you signed in securely and to detect abuse.
• If you're marked "going" for an hour, you can drop a shared pin marking exactly where in the park that game is set up. It's visible to anyone viewing that hour — it isn't tied to your identity or device location.

What we don't collect

DropIn Sports never asks for or reads your device's GPS location. Directions open your phone's own maps app with the court's fixed address — we never see where you are.

Guest accounts

Signing in as a guest creates a temporary anonymous account. Guest accounts and everything tied to them (sessions, RSVPs) are automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days without activity — activity meaning opening the app or RSVPing. The sweep runs nightly, so an account may persist a few hours past that point, never less.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. It passes through the infrastructure that runs the app: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Google SMTP (sending recovery email). Signing in with Apple or Google means those companies handle the sign-in itself under their own privacy policies.

Your data, your call

Delete your account any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. That permanently removes your account, sessions, and RSVPs — there's no need to email anyone first. See Delete Your Account for the full process, including how to request deletion by email if you can't sign in.

Children

DropIn Sports is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
